When I first stepped into Seacom Soft Limited as an apprentice, I had a very simple idea of what building software meant write code, deploy, and you’re done.
I quickly discovered how incomplete that mindset was.
The Awakening: Software Is More Than Code
My journey began with software documentation something I had barely heard of before. At first, it felt unfamiliar and challenging. I was tasked with writing guidelines and structured documentation, and honestly, it stretched me. But that experience changed everything.
I learned that scalable, secure, and industry-ready software especially in sensitive sectors like healthcare is built on clarity, structure, and documentation, not just code.
That was my first major shift in perspective.
Stepping Into Security: My Introduction to Penetration Testing
Soon after, I moved into something even more technical penetration testing.
I was assigned to test a healthcare application to ensure it met GDPR compliance standards across the UK and parts of Europe. This was a completely new territory for me.
For about two weeks, I immersed myself in research:
- Understanding vulnerabilities like SQL injection
- Learning about HTTPS protocols and encryption
- Performing manual security testing
- Using AI tools and online resources to guide my process
It was intense but incredibly rewarding.
That experience taught me that building software isn’t just about functionality it’s about trust, safety, and responsibility.
Collaboration & Real-World Impact

At Seacom Soft Limited, you don’t just learn theory you work on real-life solutions.
I collaborated with engineers across different domains:
- Supporting research for tools and technologies
- Assisting in development discussions
- Reviewing and improving code structure and semantics
- Exploring emerging technologies like AI systems and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)
One moment I was researching tools, the next I was contributing to improving JavaScript code quality. Every day came with a new challenge and a new opportunity to grow.
Wearing Multiple Hats: Scrum, Product Thinking & Growth
There was a point where I stepped into the role of a Scrum Master.
I had to quickly understand:
- Agile workflows
- Team coordination
- Task prioritization
- Sprint planning
It pushed me to think beyond technical execution and into team leadership and delivery efficiency.
At Seacom Soft Limited, growth isn’t optional it’s inevitable.
The Big Leap: Becoming a Project Manager
After a season of learning, contributing, and stretching myself, I was offered a role as a Project Manager. That transition was a defining moment.
In this role, I worked on several impactful projects, including:
- Auto Transporter App
- GCB Marketplace
- Ekinrin Ade Community-based web application
- My Wellness App
- AI Training Project
Each project deepened my understanding of:
- Product development
- Team collaboration
- Delivering solutions that solve real human problems
